OpenCapSense.org is a resource for applying capacitive sensing techniques in the fields of Human-Computer-Interaction and Ubiquitous Computing. Capacitive sensors can be installed unobtrusively in almost any environment and allow for detecting objects within distances of up to 50cm.
OpenCapSense.org originates from the research project OpenCapSense - an open-source rapid prototyping board for building applications based on capacitive sensing. Over the past couple of months two new research projects became part of our website: (1) A capacitive gesture recognition system (Rainbowfish) and (2) an open-source implementation of Capacitive Near-Field Communication (CapNFC).
